Deze discussiebijdrage is een reactie op het opiniestuk over ‘Crisis in
de taalkunde?’ van Freek Van de Velde en Joop van der Horst. Het
betoogt dat de huidige situatie in de taalkunde misschien iets minder
dramatisch en vooral heel wat minder uitzonderlijk en zorgwekkend
is dan deze auteurs suggereren.

This discussion note is a reaction to the opinion article ‘Crisis in de
taalkunde?’ by Freek Van de Velde and Joop van der Horst. It argues
that the present state of the art in linguistics may be less dramatic, and
is certainly less exceptional and alarming, than is suggested by these
authors.
